The program for today was a team from Windermere Real Estate, Pat Olleachea and Travis Jelovich.  A most interesting program covering the Real Estate market in Grays Harbor area.  The trend is up from 2010 and 2013 lows.  The “For Sale Inventory” is down pushing toward a healthy average of 4 months worth of sales inventory.  Commercial sales are steady, about the same in the last 3 years. Program

Grays Harbor County Sheriff Rick Scott spoke today of the recent homicide and barricade situation on Oak Street and addressed some of the concerns voiced by local readers of the Daily World.  He also spoke of changes of the department in staffing of the clerical, corrections and criminal divisions.  The peak number of employees was 87, but now stands at 70.  This is coming when service calls are at an all time high.  Budget cuts proposed by the commissioners are not effectively enacted by less personnel as more overtime charges are incurred in order to give the county the necessary protection it requires.  In addition, additional services such as court security and emergency management have been added to the duties of the Sheriff’s Department.  As usual, Sheriff Scott gave a very informative talk.
