Hoquiam Lions Sept. 30, 2014

King Lion Seppo opened the meeting on time with a good turnout of members present.  The singing was graded a  C+ by me!  (If you don’t agree–write your own column.)

Pete Hegg reported that Mel Thompson was gaining strength slowly.  He is still at Pacific Care.  Yesterday he was able to walk around the facility with the aid of a walker. Earlier in the week he went to dinner at Duffy’s restaurant.  He is looking forward with anticipation to going home tomorrow.

Reports on the Rain Derby and Playday were given.

Our program was on Big Game Hunting by Jess Peak and his assistants Tabitha Vesey and David Morano. The hunts were conducted in Texas and Africa.  It was noted that the game taken in Texas could be kept in toto while the African harvests were heads only.  The rest of the critter was distributed to the indigenous people for food.

The display of mounted heads and  bodies was of museum quality.  The photographic collection was extensive and professionally done.  A very good program.  Thanks to Lion Jones for arranging it.

The pot was won by Pete Hegg!!!!
