King Lion Seppo called the meeting to order. Because we had several talented guest singers, WE SOUNDED GREAT!

Charter party the 18th at 5:30. $18.00 single, $35.00 couple. Sign up with Jerry S.

It was brought up to have all the students of the month for the school year here at the end of the school year for lunch.

Also brought up was a donation (if needed) for the score board at Olympic stadium.

Program was Chris Hill, Cora Foss, Chris Spurline, Ken Albet and Alex Eddy from the Grays Harbor College upcoming play – Light in piezza. They did 3 numbers for us.

  • Directors meeting for Thursday has been canceled.
  • Crab feed Feb 13 at 6:00 at Cosi Lions.  $20.00. Pot luck
  • Sign up with Larry.
  • Program – Pail Dean slides from his latest trip. He went to Tecucigalpa, Honduras. There were 10 in the group – doctor, nurse, eye, dentist. It is the capital with 1.2 million people and is a 3,200′ to 4,800′. The airport runway is only 5,00′ long and is real hard to land/take off. It is also the murder capital of the world, not with the locals but with gangs coming from Salvadore and other places.$1.00 American = 214 of theirs. They set up clinics in 3 different places and saw 1,400+ patients. Very good presentation!

  • There was a large number of guests – student of the month relatives, rain derby winners and Pat Durney.
  • Crab feed Feb 13 at Cosi Lions at 6:00. Bring plates, silverware, and pot luck.Larry needs a number of those who will go as we were at the limit last year in seating.
  • Board meeting Jan 22 (Thursday) noon at elks roundtable.

  • Rain Derby – Larry gave us a rundown on the 1st place winner. We will find out at a later date how much $$$ we made.
  • Next Tuesday is boy/girl of the month and rain derby winners will be rewarded.
  • Crab feed – possibly end of Janurary – more info to follow.
  • Can we do something to help the Pacific Care evucated patients..Roger will look into this.
  • Possible dinner for police – Jerry S. will look into this.

NOVEMBER NEWS LETTER

November 11, 2014 Veterans day.

Al Bruun reporting.

Lion King Seppo called the meeting to order.

There was a recognizing of all veterans in attendance.

Veterans concert at 7thstreet today 2 pm and 7 pm.

We had several guests who were related to the students of the month. Welcome.

We have taken in $4,700.00 in rain derby so far.

Stub party the 21st at 5:30.

Turkey bingo next week. $5.00 for one card or four. Spouses welcome.

Foodball donation is in the mail.

Students of the month: Chandra Munger and Auskin Eberwien.

Program was Dee Johnson. He went to the formula 1 race in Texas where he was one of 107,000 in attendance. There are 11 teams that compete in 19 world wide races. The cars weight 1,400 lbs. and are powered by a 1.6 turbo V 6 cyl. power plant which develops 600+ horsepower at 15,000 rpm. The can do 250 mph. The tickets cost him $300.00 for 3 days and everything else one could buy there was really expensive. What an experience he had. Thank you Dee!

King Lion Seppo called the meeting to order.

Guests included: Gene Parker (cosi lions), Ben King (cosi lions), Carolyn Prichard, and the first lady of Hoquiam – Sue Ann Durney.

Birthdays: Mark Maxfield, Mike Lytle, Paul Prichard, Gordon Lanning, and Jerry Erickson.

Calling assignments for the Nov 25th dinner was handed out. Please make your calls before next Tuesday as we need a head count. It will start at 6:00 and clams and something not decided yet, are on the menu. Bring spouses etc.

Rain derby sort party Friday Nov. 21st at 5:30 – catholic church back room. Pot luck – club to provide chicken.

Loggers consession made $3,300.00

Program was Janet Taylor who is the intrem publisher for the Daily World. Sound publishing owns 42 Washington newspapers including the Daily World. There are things wrong at the paper and she is here to find out what we think. It was a good discussion with some suggestions – Sunday paper, at least 5 times a wee, why more local news, and more timely news (not days after it happened) Upcomming will be meetings with community leaders and other interested parties,But it will  be a commitment If you wish to participate, you can contact her at the Daily World building.

OCTOBER NEWS LETTER

October 7, 2014

King Lion Seppo called the meeting to order. Singing was not that great

Birthdays – Pete V. Seppo Ken Johnson.

Zone meeting this thursday 6:00 at Ocean Palace.

Rain derby – handed out assignments to get ads for Drizzle.

Programs for Nov – Pete H and Ed R.

Students of the month next week.

Paul Dean told about his next trip. He will be going to Honduras. He will take about 2,000 glasses and be gone for 10 days. There are 8 or 9 people in the crew.

Seppo read a passage about the kindness program that was in the Lions magazine an written by the international president. Very good article.

Rudy reflected on his comming to America from Crotia in 1928.

Dee Johnson claimed to pot.

Meeting was called to order by King Lion Seppo. There were no gusts.

BBQ & conessions still need for us to get ell the bills.

3 benches have been ordered.

A letter from a parent thanking us for helping to sent a kid to camp LEO.

PROGRAM – Executive Director for Camo LEO. The Lions were thamke for all their support for camp LEO. Camp LEO is a place for diabetic kids to be with others with the same thing and have fun. They have been in operation for 25 years and have served 1,500 + kids so far. The kids do all kind of activities and learn about their health problem and how to cope with them. Of great interest was a video all about the camp. It was a great presentation!

SEPT 2, 2014

King Lion Seppo called the meeting to order.

Discussed BBQ and Consessions – we are ready.

Potato scrub and peanut bag fill at 5:30 Thursday.

Set-up 9:00 and hot dog cooking at 12:00 sat.

Lots of rain derby available.

Oct 18, 2014 is conference at Ocean Shores – See Jerry S. in next to weeks if attending.

PROGRAM – Larry jones went back in Hoquiam football history and told us his pick of players from years gone by that were outstanding. We also learned about the different locations that old schools were in Hoquiam. It was a great history lesson.
