NOVEMBER NEWS LETTER

November 11, 2014 Veterans day.

Lion King Seppo called the meeting to order.

There was a recognizing of all veterans in attendance.

Veterans concert at 7thstreet today 2 pm and 7 pm.

We had several guests who were related to the students of the month. Welcome.

We have taken in $4,700.00 in rain derby so far.

Stub party the 21st at 5:30.

Turkey bingo next week. $5.00 for one card or four. Spouses welcome.

Foodball donation is in the mail.

Students of the month: Chandra Munger and Auskin Eberwien.

Program was Dee Johnson. He went to the formula 1 race in Texas where he was one of 107,000 in attendance. There are 11 teams that compete in 19 world wide races. The cars weight 1,400 lbs. and are powered by a 1.6 turbo V 6 cyl. power plant which develops 600+ horsepower at 15,000 rpm. The can do 250 mph. The tickets cost him $300.00 for 3 days and everything else one could buy there was really expensive. What an experience he had. Thank you Dee!

King Lion Seppo called the meeting to order.

Guests included: Gene Parker (cosi lions), Ben King (cosi lions), Carolyn Prichard, and the first lady of Hoquiam – Sue Ann Durney.

Birthdays: Mark Maxfield, Mike Lytle, Paul Prichard, Gordon Lanning, and Jerry Erickson.

Calling assignments for the Nov 25th dinner was handed out. Please make your calls before next Tuesday as we need a head count. It will start at 6:00 and clams and something not decided yet, are on the menu. Bring spouses etc.

Rain derby sort party Friday Nov. 21st at 5:30 – catholic church back room. Pot luck – club to provide chicken.

Loggers consession made $3,300.00

Program was Janet Taylor who is the intrem publisher for the Daily World. Sound publishing owns 42 Washington newspapers including the Daily World. There are things wrong at the paper and she is here to find out what we think. It was a good discussion with some suggestions – Sunday paper, at least 5 times a wee, why more local news, and more timely news (not days after it happened) Upcomming will be meetings with community leaders and other interested parties,But it will  be a commitment If you wish to participate, you can contact her at the Daily World building.
