follow  New Things: The museum has an extensive photo collection from early Hoquiam photographer, Andy Anderson.  Among the collection are numerous glass plate photos by H.G. Nelson., a photographer that primarily shot logging pictures in the early 1900’s.  A recent donation of pictures by Gary Patterson was found to have additional H.G. Nelson photos – A real find.

Camp LEO is a place for diabetic kids to be with others with the same thing and have fun. They have been in operation for 25 years and have served 1,500 + kids so far. The kids do all kind of activities and learn about their health problem and how to cope with them. Of great interest was a video all about the camp. It was a great presentation!

Lots of rain derby available.

Oct 18, 2014 is conference at Ocean Shores – See Jerry S. in next to weeks if attending.

PROGRAM – Larry jones went back in Hoquiam football history and told us his pick of players from years gone by that were outstanding. We also learned about the different locations that old schools were in Hoquiam. It was a great history lesson.

King Lion Seppo called the meeting to order. BBQ and concession was discusses. We have fish. Rain derby doing O K on filling open positions. CORRECTION – rain fall 31.73″ as of today. We also discussed the 3 bench to be installed in downtown Hoquiam.

Program was introduced by Rudy. Allisa Shay and Lenord Barns from the Port. It was a slide presentation about what’s happening in the port authority. Which is controlled by an elected board. The port takes care of Marine, Satsop business park, the Airport, and industrial properties. There was 73 big ships in port in 2013 and more to be here this year. Also presented were future project and a question and answer period.

Meeting called to order by King Lion Seppo. We had a discussion on the up coming BQ and conession work. Potato scrub Thursday Sept 4th at 5:15.

Board meeting this Thursday at Elks at noon.

Guests included the dist giov, dist. zone chairman, Jim Wyrich, Carol Broom, and Helen and Terry Sutfin.

Erv from Aberdeen Lions told about their fund raiser – Toast The harbor food and wine festival on Nov 8th from 2 – 9 pm at Quinault Beach Resort and Casio.

Program – Erv Gronihan introduces Dist Gov Kathy Crawford who passed along greeting from international president Joe Preston who’s theme is strengthing pride. She also talked about what LCIF does. She wants us to attend the spring conference. Her theme this year is ‘breakthrough’. It was a good presentation.
