September 11, 2018

King Lion Dee Johnson called the meeting to order and began with a moment of silence remembering the events of September 11, 2001.

Larry introduced his guest from Las Vegas.  He is here for the second year helping with concessions, and as a special interpreter for Spanich and Mihovilich.  The three held a separate meeting in Croatian that eventually had to be stopped.  I wasn’t sure if Bogdonovich could keep up, but he was smiling.

The Students of the Month of September were named, Grady Cummings and Brook Bogdonovich.  A complete bio for each with photos can be viewed on the Hoquiam High School Facebook page.

Lion Ray Pumphrey announced that there will be a high cleanup on Lonngren Pass following next week’s meeting.

Reports from the Salmon BBQ and the Concessions showed that although last year was a record breaker, this year was even better.  Initial estimates have the Salmon BBQ bringing a net of $3500.00 and the concessions a net of $3000.00.  It was all hands on deck, including many of the member’s wives, friends and other family members.  A special thanks goes out to all who helped, including those who sold buttons for Logger’s Playday.

As a special thank you, King Lion Dee Johnson announced that for the evening meeting, this September 25th, he would be buying the meals for those spouses and friends that helped out.

Rain Derby tickets are available.  We cannot take a back seat to the BBQ and Concessions, so please, sell, sell, sell.

And lastly, as fate would have it, Morgan won the pot again.  Always that who don’t need it.
